An iconic American restaurant chain known for its kids parties is looking to open its first sites in the UK – and Bristol is one of its possible locations.
Chuck E. Cheese, which has more than 550 locations worldwide, has unveiled its list of ‘initial target locations’, which include Bristol, as well as Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, and Milton Keynes.
According to Completely Retail, the family entertainment concept looks to ‘combine entertainment with a food and beverage offering, bolstered by a strong brand presence’. The article goes on to say that the operator is looking to open in ‘high footfall locations with a strong family demographic, with a catchment of over 25,000 under 12-year-olds within a 20-minute drive time’.
The brand is reportedly targeting shopping centres, retail parks, and leisure parks, all with their own car parks. Ideal locations are said to be between 10,760 sq ft and 16,145 sq ft in size, preferably with an eaves height of 13.1 feet.
According to Completely Retail, Wright Property has been appointed to advise Chuck E. Cheese on its expansion.
Described as the ‘ultimate kids’ birthday party place for everyday fun’, and boasting ‘arcade games, pizza, and group events’, Chuck E. Cheese was founded in California in 1977 by Atari Inc.’s co-founder Nolan Bushnell. Its headquarters now reside in Irving, Texas.
