A police officer allegedly behaved in an inappropriate and sexual way towards a woman at a social event. PC Christopher May, based in Bridgwater, faces a three-day misconduct hearing at Avon & Somerset Police headquarters in Portishead from Wednesday, December 18.
A notice on the force website said the constable was accused of breaching the standards of professional behaviour in terms of authority, respect and courtesy; and discreditable conduct. It said: “It is alleged that: on November 29, 2023, while at an off-duty social event, PC May behaved in an inappropriate and sexual manner towards a woman.
“It is contended that (if proven) the allegations amount to gross misconduct.” The chair of the hearing, Pete Warren, has directed that it will be held in public.
