Harry was hit with questions regarding their relationship at The New York Times’ 2024 DealBook Summit, and asked how he handles speculation surrounding their relationship, including recent reports about the couple increasingly attending events separately.
“I Google Newsed you, and there were people fascinated by everything you’re doing, all the time. They’re fascinated by Meghan is in California right now, and you’re here,” NYT columnist and Dealbook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin told Harry.
“And there’s articles left and right about, you know, ’Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren’t you doing them together?’”
Harry responded, “Because you invited me, you should have known!”
The conversation took place on Wednesday, hours before Meghan attended the the Paley Honors gala in Beverly Hills.
Sorkin asked Harry, “Is that normal for you? The second there’s an article — she’s in California, you’re in New York — they say, ‘Well, what is happening with these two, right?’ Is that a good thing for you, in a way, that there’s so much interest in you?”
Harry, who grew up in the royal spotlight, admitted that it’s “definitely not a good thing,” before going on to list some of the wild reports about him and his wife.

“Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?’” the royal said with a laugh.
“It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it,” Harry continued, noting it’s the “trolls” he feels most sorry for.
“Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”
Meghan later wowed on the red carpet at the the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in a strapless, trained black Oscar de la Renta gown, Harper’s Bazaar reported.
She was there to help celebrate Tyler Perry, daughter Lilibet’s godfather, with the highest distinction from The Paley Center for Media.
“The Duke and Duchess have now hit their stride as individuals — not just as a couple,” a royal insider recently told People magazine.
“The Duke appears focused on his patronage work, and the Duchess focused on her entrepreneurial track.”
