The hunt is on for a 35-year-old man who was mistakenly released from the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre on Friday.

Hamilton Police say it wasn’t until three days later, on Monday, that it was discovered Matthew Jordan O’Keefe had been released in error.
O’Keefe was scheduled to appear in a Hamilton Court on Thursday but failed to show up.
O’Keefe was arrested in Hamilton on Aug. 10 while he was in a vehicle in the area of King St. E. and Quigley Rd. He faces charges for possession of property obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm and drug-related offences.
He also has 12 outstanding warrants from Toronto Police.
