Barry McGuigan has impressed the I’m A Celebrity camp with his vocal ability — but his navigational skills have one fellow contestant concerned that he’ll get lost in the “dangerous” jungle.

On Tuesday, the night-time trip on the Fright Bus continued, with the celebrities hoping to endure the journey length in order to win luggage items for camp.

And in true I’m A Celebrity style, they were not alone. Joining them for the journey were cockroaches, mealworms and spiders.

Birthday girl Maura Higgins received a celebratory birthday singsong from her campmates, as she declared: “This is the worst birthday I’ve ever had!”

To keep up morale for the journey, McFly frontman Danny Jones decided to lead a song aptly named ‘Roaches in My Pants’, but the energy was short-lived as more critters continued to drop down on the campmates — including a huge spider on Danny’s hand.

Next, the bus stopped at Roach Road, giving DJ Melvin Odoom, Corrie star Alan Halsall and Danny the opportunity to exit the bus and collect their luggage.

Danny deliberately went for a guitar box as his chosen piece of luggage, as he shared: “I am hoping that this lovely shape is gonna be a guitar!”

He added: “I’m just letting you know I’ve still got roaches in my pants, I can feel them.”

Last up were Maura, Barry and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos who had to withstand four stops and an almighty amount of critters and green ants before they could get off the Fright Bus.

Seated in the middle, with Maura and Tulisa screaming either side of him, Barry kept his game face on with the end in sight.

Returning to camp after a terrifying trip on the Fright Bus, dancer Oti Mabuse was still clearly shaken. When she found a frog sitting on her bag, she said: “I’m gonna cry”

Once the campmates had returned, they took the opportunity to open their luggage.

Oti found a Shewee female urinal in hers, Coleen Rooney found a neck pillow and Co Antrim man Dean McCullough some women’s pumps.

However, amongst the clothes, which included a floor-length sequined dress that Dean decided to try on, were a few tasty treats, including Maltesers, Skittles, popcorn and cheesy Wotsits.

Maura sadly had to make do with an apple, which she was less than impressed with, as she asked: “What did I do to deserve this?”

Lastly, Danny received a guitar, as he treated the camp to a rendition of the McFly song ‘Shine A Light’.

With the camp joining in, Dean and Melvin took turns to sing a solo, and then Barry shocked the camp with his vocal ability, with Richard remarking: “Revelation of the evening, Barry McGuigan can sing like a canary, it was lovely.”

They perhaps shouldn’t have been surprised — McGuigan’s father Pat famously sang ‘Danny Boy’ before several of his son’s matches.

With the camp in high spirits, Barry remarked: “It was brilliant, a lovely end to a traumatic and scary evening!”

The next morning in camp, it was shower time at the waterfall for Melvin and Oti. Melvin got the shock of his life when he felt the water temperature, making some hilarious sound effects – much to Oti’s amusement.

With Tulisa in charge of the washing up for camp, Barry offered to help out by carrying some pots and pans down to the creek for her.

But with Barry speeding ahead, when Tulisa reached the washing spot down at the stream, Barry was nowhere in sight.

She looked around and shouted: “Barry…Barry? Where’s he gone?”

After a long time calling for the former boxer, he finally appeared further up the jungle looking confused, as Tulisa laughed and said: “You’ve gone too far!”

Reflecting in the Bush Telegraph, Tulisa said: “I think until Barry learns his way around the jungle a bit more, I’ll be keeping an eye on him because we don’t want to lose him out there, it’s a dangerous place.”
