Nigella Lawson has some competition this Christmas, as UK drag queen Ella Vaday has teamed up with Domino’s to create a unique garlic and herb stuffing inspired by the pizza brand’s famous dip.
Ella, known for her Nigella impersonation on RuPaul’s Drag Race, showcased her culinary skills in a humorous tutorial, demonstrating how to make the perfect stuffing with ease.
In the footage, Ella cheekily remarks, ” Christmas isn’t Christmas without a good stuffing” and claims that Domino’s new release will make “your dish dazzle”.
Ella Vaday commented: “This year, I decided to stuff tradition and add some flare to my Christmas meal, and I was delighted to cook up a storm with Doh-mee-nooos, darling.”
“We all know Christmas cooking can be stressful, but this stuffing brings maximum flavour with minimum effort I can’t wait to dig in.”
As part of their limited-edition mix, available from Tuesday 26 November to Tuesday 3 December, Domino’s has put its own spin on traditional stuffing; the secret herbs and spices, inspired by the brand’s beloved dip, are designed to be incorporated into Brits’ Christmas dinners.
According to research conducted by Dominos, three-quarters of Brits consider stuffing a Christmas dinner essential, with a quarter claiming it as their favourite part of the festive meal.
Listed as one of the most crucial ingredients of the Christmas dish, above Yorkshire puddings, Brussels sprouts and even gravy.
But one in 10 are said to get it wrong when cooking, and as a result decide to buy it ready-made instead of making it themselves.
Meanwhile, to help alleviate extra stress, 14 per cent would gladly serve pre-cooked frozen roast potatoes instead of peeling them themselves, and cranberry sauce was also on the list of shop bought items.
As many as 54 per cent of people claim their Christmas dinner is the highlight meal of the year, yet they’d prefer to be a guest rather than the chef.
Melanie Howe, a spokesperson for Domino’s, commented: “We know how much our customers love a good dip, and we wanted our fans to be able to enjoy those flavours even at Christmas.”
