The South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust’s digital services department was named Overall IT Team or Company of the Year 2024, sponsored by Telefónica Tech, for their amazing achievements.

The team’s work on the Encompass Implementation earned them the Best Public Sector or Third Sector IT Project award, and they were also recognized as IT Team or Department of the Year.

The trust covers the local government districts of Ards, North Down, Down, and Lisburn.

The judges congratulated the team on a successful campaign, highlighting their “commitment” to the implementation of Encompass.

“The team at the South Eastern, under the immense pressure of the lens of an entire regional programme being deployed in very tight timelines, met the demands of the Encompass programme and more besides.

“Being the first to go live, wrangling the complexities of the many workstreams that come through an engagement of this type, working through all the lower-level demands that come with an event of this nature, unprecedented in NI to date, typifies the dedication, the can-do attitude, the tenacity and commitment of the entire organisation.

“Congratulations to the IT department of South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT).”

Sean Dooher, Encompass project lead, said: “I am extremely proud of being involved with such a huge and transformative programme, extremely proud of the teams and services that delivered and continue to deliver the transformation at the front lines of health and social care in Northern Ireland.

“I look forward to seeing Northern Ireland reap the benefits of the implementation in the years that come as the programme continues rollout across the region.”

In November, Northern Health & Social Care Trust adopts the system, followed by the southern and western trusts, which will launch the system together in around six months time.

Belfast Health & Social Care Trust went live on the system in June.
