Roy Keane was involved in a heated confrontation with an Ipswich Town supporter following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Portman Road.
The former Red Devils captain, who was working as a Sky Sports pundit, left the broadcast set and engaged in a tense exchange with a fan who was sat in the stands.
The 53-year-old was captured on film telling the supporter ‘I’ll wait for you in the car park,’ before being ushered back to the presentation area by production staff.
The incident occurred as Keane was receiving final instructions from producers during an advertising break, when he suddenly removed his microphone and left the presentation area.

Fellow pundit Jamie Redknapp watched from the background as the situation unfolded, while others witnessed the tense exchange as well.
Fans in the stands heckled Keane, with one individual racing across the upper tier shouting “F**k you Keane”.
Others in the crowd called out: “Go in the car park and wait until the show’s over.”

Staff members eventually had to encourage remaining supporters to calm down as Keane departed.
Keane’s confrontation comes with a complicated history at Ipswich Town, where he served as manager between 2009 and 2011.
His tenure at the Tractor Boys was marked by inconsistent form, winning just 28 of his 81 matches in charge.

The Irishman’s time at the club ended in dismissal midway through the 2010/11 season, with Ipswich struggling in 21st place in the Championship.
During his managerial stint, Keane had previously clashed with protesting fans, making Sunday’s incident the latest chapter in his turbulent relationship with the club.
This is not the Irishman’s first confrontation with supporters, having been headbutted at the Emirates Stadium by an Arsenal fan in September 2023.

The incidents appear to have taken their toll on the pundit, who has expressed doubts about his long-term future in broadcasting.
“I love football, but the hassle of matches, getting to games, and the hassle of fans… I was in court a few months ago with somebody headbutting me do you think I enjoy that side of it? Absolutely not,” Keane said in August.
Despite the confrontation, Keane returned to provide post-match analysis of Manchester United’s performance, with the fallen giants forced to settle for a point after Omari Hutchinson cancelled out Marcus Rashford’s early goal.
He offered a stark assessment of the challenges facing the team, stating on Sky Sports: “He’s got big problems. The lack of threat in the second half, and Ipswich looked like they’d go on and win.”
“You have to give the man a chance but the threat going forward, it’s a huge problem for Man United. It’s not good enough,” Keane added, reflecting on Ruben Amorim’s first match in charge.
