An Etobicoke crash that left three children, including a newborn, injured last month has since turned fatal.

In a news release issued on Thursday night, Toronto Police said a 39-year-old woman who was also struck in the same incident died in hospital on Thursday.

The three children were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries while the woman was rushed to hospital via an emergency run after a vehicle allegedly struck several pedestrians on Oct. 2 at about 6:10 p.m. in the Islington and Orrell Aves. Area.

Police said a vehicle was travelling west on Orrell before attempting to turn south on Islington.

Cops said the driver, a 76-year-old woman, remained at the scene.

The three children included a one-month-old, a one-year-old and a four-year-old.

A 45-year-old man was also hospitalized.
