TOSS THIS COUNCIL
Re “City: Stay in your lane, PCs” (Justin Holmes, Nov. 18): So, Mayor Chow states the council and the people of Toronto should get the respect they deserve once a decision has been made. When are the right decision going to made by the councillors. If the councillors are positive that citizens prefer bike lanes, have that as a question for the next municipal election. When the results come back that people do not want bike lanes, the councillors and mayor who voted for bike lanes should be thrown out for lying in council stating that the majority of the people want bike lanes. This will never happen because they know a good thing when they have it. I wish Stephen Holyday would run for Mayor he is the only one that’s works for the people.

(Council has decided that bike lanes everywhere is their plan. The province had to step in and clean up their mess)
CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM
Re “When ‘justice’ enables a hideous monster” (Editorial, Nov. 21): I do not understand why the French and Mahaffy families have to relive what happened to their children when Paul Bernardo applies for parole every few years it seems. It is cruel, as they also have to live with the fact that his partner in crime is free, living a good life with a family, something their daughters did not have the chance to do. What is wrong with our criminal system that a murderer like Bernardo can continue to torture these two families. He should never be allowed to even petition for parole. The idea of him being free at any time is a horribly frightening and disgusting thought. Why can the rules not be changed for criminals like him. A life sentence should be just that, for life, until they die. Enough is enough.

(Exactly. Look at the swift judgment in the US against the illegal migrant who killed nursing student Laken Riley – life sentence with no possibility of parole)
ARGOS WORLD CHAMPS
Every year, the winner of the Super Bowl celebrates by calling themselves the world champions. So shouldn’t the Argonauts not declare themselves the world champs?
