A popular Harbourside restaurant recognised by The Michelin Guide, has opened a brand new independent bar venue. Tare Bar is located in the heart of Wapping Wharf and sisters the award-winning Tare Bistro – the new bar venue even sits in the former home of Tare’s famous tasting menu restaurant, which closed its doors back in June.

The new bar is described as offering “a unique and inviting experience for those looking to enjoy expertly selected wines, locally sourced spirits, moreish bar snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere. With its inviting interior, stunning drinks list and emphasis on high-quality food, Tare Bar is set to become the go-to destination for those looking for a memorable evening in Bristol”.

Tare Bar is the brainchild of founder and chef Matt Hampshire, who has spent the past year ‘perfecting the concept that brings together his passion for sensational food and drink in a modern yet laid-back environment’. He said: “We wanted to create a fun space that feels a little like home, but with the exceptional quality that you’d expect from Tare and everything we’re known for.

“Whether you’re here for a casual catch up with friends or raise a glass to a special occasion, Tare Bar will be the place on the harbour where people can unwind, come together and tuck into something truly different to what else is on offer in the area.”

Tare Bar’s menu includes a thoughtfully chosen wine list, each available by the glass, with the menu rotating regularly to showcase more newly discovered gems. It also features a carefully curated selection of signature cocktails and drinks from many local distilleries and breweries, as well as a wide variety of no and low alcoholic alternatives.

There’s also an ever changing bar menu with highlights including glazed stuffed chicken wings, tempura oyster mushrooms, and pork belly skewers, to name a few. Previously home to Tare’s famous restaurant, the new bar’s interior is described as “combining modern aesthetics with elements inspired by Matt and the team’s rich wine bar and music background”.

There’s even an outdoor terrace, where guests can enjoy the buzz of the Harbour, no matter the weather. To celebrate its opening, Tare Bar will be hosting a series of events, beginning with a celebration on November 21 – further events are to be announced in the new year, including live music and tastings ‘with a twist’.

Tare Bar is open Wednesday to Saturday from 6-11pm and can be found at Unit 14, Cargo 2, Wapping Wharf, BS1 6ZA. Bookings and walk-ins are available.
