Former Manchester United star Wes Brown believes Ruben Amorim could be the man to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.
The 39-year-old has arrived as a replacement for Erik ten Hag, who was sacked at the end of October following a nightmare start to the new season.
United had originally decided to stick with the Dutchman in the wake of their shock 2-1 FA Cup final win over Manchester City in May.
But Ten Hag was cut loose after a defeat away at West Ham left the fallen giants sitting 14th in the Premier League table.

Amorim is United’s sixth permanent boss since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement all the way back in 2013.
And Brown, speaking exclusively to GB News via William Hill, believes the Portuguese has the qualities required to steer the Red Devils back to the top.
“You only have to look at his managerial career to see he has done an excellent job so far,” he said.
“To achieve the success at Sporting Lisbon that he has, is very good and from what I have seen, in his interviews, he looks a very confident person, smiling, engaging and his players perform for him and want to do well.

“You also look at how he handles the press, he has a warm feeling about him, so the players will like him.
“I believe the club would have done their analysis on choosing Amorim, so they will be confident they have the right man to lead Manchester United to improving.”
One criticism often aimed at Ten Hag was what many perceived to be a lack of charisma.
Though the 54-year-old is believed to be a warm character behind the scenes, he rarely showed that same side to him in public.
When asked if Amorim’s obvious charisma bodes well, Brown continued: “Yes, I like what I have seen from Amorim from his press and media interviews and he really looks a top coach and engaging personality.
“Nowadays with all the requirements from a coach, this is important.
“The players do watch these media interviews as well. This Manchester United job is arguably the biggest club in the world so all the media eyes will be on him.
“But he looks like he will be able to handle it well. Erik had his style of management and he did win two trophies at Manchester United, so his way, he felt worked.”

One downside to Amorim’s appointment is, however, that Ruud van Nistelrooy had to leave.
The Dutchman, who scored 150 goals for United during his playing days, won three of his four matches after replacing Ten Hag on an interim basis.
Van Nistelrooy has been linked with the Coventry job and many fans would love to see him back at Old Trafford in the future.
And Brown thinks his old team-mate should take a job in the top flight in order to boost his chances of that happening.

“Absolutely why not,” he said. “If he keeps on pushing with this career and does well with his next managerial role, then it could happen.
“But with Manchester United manager role being the most sought after and toughest, job, the credentials are going to be so high.”
