Airline easyJet has announced a new route to Spain from Belfast International Airport starting from next year.
The new route to Reus, a city in the north-eastern Spanish region of Catalonia, is due to take off for the first time in April 2025.
The airline said that regular flights to the city will then be operated twice weekly, every Tuesday and Saturday.
Reus airport is located down the Mediterranean coast from the regional capital of Barcelona, near the city of Tarragona and the resort town of Salou.
The Catalan city is famous for being the birthplace of the architect Antoni Gaudí.
The airline is already offering travel packages with dates as far ahead as 31 October 2026, including stays at nearby hotels.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “It’s fantastic to launch flights to the charming Catalan city of Reus, from Belfast International, providing our customers with even more choice for a summer break, as well as a range of fantastic value easyJet holidays. We look forward to welcoming them onboard.”
Dan Owens, Belfast International Airport’s chief executive officer, said: “The addition of Reus to the easyJet network will further bolster the wide range of destinations now served by easyJet from Belfast International Airport, providing local holidaymakers further choice and flexibility directly from their local airport.”
