Marcus Rashford appears to already be a big fan of Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim – if his social media is anything to go by.

Amorim took his first training session since replacing Erik ten Hag on Monday, with the 39-year-old putting his players through their paces at the club’s Carrington training complex.

Spirits seemed high, with the Portuguese attempting to get players used to his 3-4-3 formation as quickly as possible as he looks to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.

Rashford experienced his best goalscoring season for United under Ten Hag, with the forward scoring 30 goals across all competitions in the 2022/23 campaign.

He has struggled for consistency in the time since, however, bagging just 12 goals for the Red Devils.

Yet Rashford seems impressed with Amorim so far, with the United star taking to social media to share a picture from the training session.

He accompanied it with a caption that read: “Top session today.”

Rashford, on his day, is one of the best players on the planet.

And Amorim will be hoping to get the England international fully firing right away, with the matches set to come thick and fast.

The former Sporting Lisbon boss will manage United for the first time on Sunday when the fallen giants travel to Ipswich Town.

Ipswich have struggled since their promotion to the Premier League earlier in the year.

But the Tractor Boys will go into the clash with United on a high after a shock 2-1 victory away at Tottenham last time out.

Amorim is set to be Rashford’s fifth permanent manager at United.

Louis van Gaal was the first, with the Dutchman giving the forward his debut back in 2016 before they won the FA Cup together.

He was, however, cut loose that same year with Jose Mourinho then touching down as his A-list replacement.

Mourinho never really got the best from Rashford during his time in the dugout, even if United won two trophies in his first season at the club.

The 54-year-old won two trophies in as many years with United, with Rashford playing a key role along the way.

He was sacked at the end of October, however, after a 2-1 defeat to West Ham left the Red Devils rooted to 14th in the Premier League table.

Rashford has also played under interim bosses Ralf Rangnick, Michael Carrick and Ruud van Nistelrooy over the years as well.
