ONE FEWER FORWARD

The Oilers are once again going with an 11-7 formation given the lingering injury to forward Viktor Arvidsson, who will miss his third straight game with an undisclosed ailment.

FIX FOR NURSE

With defenceman Darnell Nurse out the next 5-10 days after taking a hit to the head from Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves, the Oilers have called up Josh Brown from the American Hockey League’s Bakersfield Condors. He will be making his Oilers debut tonight.

GOON GONE FOR 5

Reaves received a five-game suspension for the headshot on Nurse, which is the maximum penalty that can be imposed. It is Reaves’ fourth suspension.

POINT STREAK

The Edmonton Oilers have earned points in their last four games (3-0-1), the past three of which have all been decided in overtime. They are 4-5-1 at home and 5-2-1 on the road.

THE POLL

How many days will the Edmonton Oilers be without defenceman Darnell Nurse?

THE QUOTE

“As a coach, you just wish it never happened. And I guess no punishment could be severe enough in our opinion.” — Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch on injury to Darnell Nurse
