Tommy Fury has confirmed his return to professional boxing, with a headline bout against former UFC fighter Darren Till set for January 18, 2025.

The undefeated boxer will face Till at Manchester’s Co-op Live arena, marking his first fight since defeating YouTuber KSI in October 2023.

The 25-year-old Fury, who holds a perfect 10-0 professional record, will headline the Misfits Boxing event in what promises to be a significant Manchester versus Liverpool clash.

The announcement comes just weeks after Fury reportedly turned down an appearance on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in favour of this more lucrative opportunity.

The former Love Island star has been out of action since his controversial points victory over KSI last October, during which time he underwent surgery to address a long-standing injury to his right hand.

The fight will be broadcast on DAZN PPV as part of the Misfits Boxing promotion.

Speaking about his return, Fury said: “It feels great to, finally, say that I am back! I have been out of the ring far too long, I’ve been getting itchy knuckles.”

“This is extra special as I am the A-side and headlining a massive event in my hometown and in front of my fans,” he added.

Fury showed confidence in facing Till, stating: “Till had a good UFC career but he’s stepping into the boxing ring now, against a proper pro, and he will quickly realise that he is out of his depth.”

Till’s response was notably brief: “January 18 is my time, my night.”

Till brings significant combat sports experience to the bout, having competed at the highest level in the UFC.

The 31-year-old Liverpudlian was undefeated in his first 18 professional MMA bouts, which led to a UFC welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley in September 2018.

After losing to Woodley, Till’s career took a downturn, losing four of his next five UFC bouts before departing the organisation last year.

He has since ventured into boxing, winning his sole exhibition bout against Mohammad Mutie in July via TKO.

Mams Taylor, Co-President of Misfits Boxing, expressed high expectations for the event, saying: “Fury vs. Till is an absolute banger, one of the biggest crossover fights that can be made.”

“The build-up to this is going to be compelling, it could get personal, and the fight will be one of the most brutal we have ever seen on Misfits,” Taylor added.
