A mum who “lived for her four boys” died suddenly while on holiday in Egypt. Liz Boardman died unexpectedly in the early hours of Monday, November 11.

The Bolton-born mum celebrated her 40th birthday in August and was known for her humour and kindness. Liz’s body was flown back home on Friday, November 15, with her family now awaiting the cause of death.

Her friend Michelle Lowe, who worked alongside Liz, has set up a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral costs and support the boys during this incredibly difficult time. Paying tribute to Liz, Michelle told the Liverpool ECHO: “Liz was one of the funniest people I had ever met in my life. She was a great storyteller. Liz was just a really fun person and she did live for them boys.”

“It’s been a shock, I don’t think it has hit me and it won’t until I see her. Liz was very kind and was a support worker through work. The service users all loved her.”

On the GoFundMe page, Michelle wrote: “This page is to help raise funds for funeral expenses, grave stone and to help the boys as much as possible at this extremely sad and difficult time. Liz was full of life and lived for her boys, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read as this has been very difficult to write.”

A spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Egypt.”
