A man has been charged in connection with four robberies in the east Belfast area, the PSNI have said.

The 36-year-old has been charged with multiple offences, including four counts of robbery/attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage, and drug possession.

He is due to appear at Magistrates Court later today.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Detectives investigating reports of four robberies at commercial premises on the Newtownards Road and Templemore Avenue areas of east Belfast on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th November, have arrested man on suspicion of a number of offences.

“The man, aged 36 has been charged with four counts of robbery/attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence. He has also been charged with criminal damage and possession of a class C controlled substance.

“He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court today, Monday 18th November.

“As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
