In the run-up to Christmas, shoppers can capitalise on a massive global sale in November known as Black Friday. While you’ve likely seen numerous offers already, the main event doesn’t actually occur until later in the month.
Traditionally, this event takes place following the Thanksgiving celebrations in America. However, the tradition has been embraced in other countries worldwide and has been extended earlier into November.
Immediately following Black Friday – which this year falls on November 29 – is Cyber Monday. Retailers typically offer a few exclusive deals for online shoppers, providing one final opportunity to snag huge discounts before Christmas.
Despite online shopping being a standard part of Black Friday deals in today’s digital age, Cyber Monday still holds its spot in the retail calendar. It’s often best for tech but does also encompass a vast array of products ranging from beauty, health, home and other items.
According to research conducted by finder.com, Brits are projected to spend an estimated £3.8 billion on Black Friday and Cyber Monday purchases in 2024.
Cyber Monday first started back in 2005 and has now become one of the busiest internet shopping days of the year. This year, it falls on Monday, December 2, reports the Mirror.
Just like Black Friday not being limited to a single day, retailers often start unveiling offers as early as Saturday, giving you a few days to mull over your purchases. Capitalising on these sales could see you ticking off some big-ticket items from your Christmas shopping lists without having to part with as much cash.
The largest online retailer, Amazon, has confirmed that customers can look forward to Cyber Monday deals from November 30 this year. Amazon also revealed that customers can anticipate massive savings of up to 40% off kitchen appliances from Ninja, Keurig, and GE Profile, as well as up to 20% off Stanley drinkware.
More retailers are expected to announce their deals for this closer to the time. Last year, brands such as Boots, LookFantastic and more participated.
It is important to remember to only buy what you can afford and to search around for any possible cheaper deals before making a purchase.
