A woman is in hospital with serious injuries following a shooting Saturday afternoon in North York.

Toronto Police said on social media that officers responded to reports of a woman shot shortly after 3 p.m. at Ellerslie Ave. and Diagonal Rd., just west of Yonge St., in Willowdale.
The woman was assessed by medics at the scene and transported to hospital with serious injuries, police said.
The shooter fled the area on foot, cops added.
No suspect description was immediately released.
Cops said officers would continue to be present in the area, and the K9 Unit was at the scene as well.
There were road closures in the area as police continued to investigate the incident.
