Eddie Hearn was involved in a tense moment after Katie Taylor’s controversial win over Amanda Serrano after being told he could not join her in her post-match press conference.

After an official informed the boxing promoter, Hearn told Taylor’s manager Brian Peters, who was incensed.

He immediately confronted the official, exclaiming: “Are you joking? Are you out of your mind?”

Hearn appeared to try diffuse the situation and said: “It’s fine, don’t worry about it.

Peters continued: “Everyone else gets three people, don’t be acting this s***.

“Three people go up or not at all. Come on, big boy, make your decision now. Make your decision. Three go up or none at all.

“Very simple. Make your decision. Come on, big boy.”

A response cannot be heard but it was telling that Hearn then made his way to the stage alongside Peters and Taylor.

It comes after a controversial fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas where the Irish boxer claimed another win over Serrano in their rematch.

It saw Taylor successfully retain her undisputed light-welterweight title with a points victory over her rival in an absolute belter of a bout.

Serrano looked the more aggressive of the two boxers but Taylor boxed smarter, countering expertly – though often leaning with her head.

On one occasion, her head collided with Serrano’s eye – which led to a severe cut that saw blood pour down the 36-year-old’s face.

It saw Taylor docked a point in the eighth round but all three judges scored the fight 95-94 for the 38-year-old.

Loud boos greeted the decision but Taylor said: “I definitely didn’t agree with the point deduction. I certainly wasn’t fighting dirty. Sometimes it gets rough in there.”

Serrano, however, was less than pleased with the decision as she suffered just a third defeat in her incredible 51-fight career.

“I knew when it went to the judges it was going to be a little shady,” she said.

“Every time you get a cut it hurts. You get blood in your eye.

“She kept headbutting me, but we knew that from the very beginning, the first fight.”
