Karcher have an enviable reputation when it comes to outdoor appliances so I was more than happy to give its K7 Premium Smart Control Pressure Washer a whirl. It’s a heavy duty, powerful cleaner that makes short work of cars, driveways and patios.
The K7 is definitely sturdy and feels extremely well-built, but be warned that while it does come with an extendable handle and large wheels it’s neither small not light. You will need some space to store it, although the hose reel and attachments themselves do hider themselves away quite well.
With a 2800W motor and a max pressure of up to 180 bars and 550 liters per hour, the K 7 Premium packs a serious punch. The power really is that impressive and you feel you are working with industrial machinery rarther than a household product.
This high water flow rate means that even the toughest dirt and grime can be removed quickly and effectively. The pressure level is adjustable, making it versatile enough to clean both delicate surfaces and more stubborn grime on harder materials like concrete.
The K 7 Premium shines in terms of cleaning performance. It can tackle dirt, moss, and grime on patios and driveways effectively, often requiring only a single pass. For car washing, the adjustable settings allow a gentler clean, so you can switch to a lower pressure for paintwork or use the foam nozzle for detergent. And if the grime is being stubborn you can engage the boost mode which takes things up to an almost crazy level!
Set-up is pretty straightforward. In my research it was mentioned that you need to attach it to a tap that is connected to your mains rather than your water tank as you do need to some pressure to get things going. if you’re using an outdoor tap, this shouldn’t be an issue.
As you probably would have guessed from the ‘smart’ moniker, you can synch the washer to an app on your phone. It’s a little bit redundant, however, as you have all the controls you need via an LCD display on the 3-in-1 spray gun where you can control the pressure directly.
The K7 is priced on the higher end but it justifies the investment with durability, power, and versatility. It’s ideal for those who need a reliable machine for frequent or intensive cleaning tasks, as its build and features cater well to challenging surfaces.
