WOKE DISGRACE

What a woke disgrace this country has become. How dare they hijack what is supposed to be a day to honour those who fought and the many who died for the freedoms we enjoy. Instead of attending a sanctimonious ceremony in Toronto or Ottawa, we attended a thoughtful ceremony in a small town. It was conducted with respect to our service people and fallen comrades. The pastor prayed, shared messages from the gospel and invoked the names of God and Jesus. Those who made the ultimate sacrifice, veterans and our families were all honoured. The Canadian national anthem and God Save the King were played. There was no woke agenda, no bowing to DEI. Military personnel were present in full uniform — nobody appeared to be distressed or uncomfortable. What a refreshing change.

(We have to push back against this nonsense as it has no part in honouring those who fought for us)

REMEMBER THEIR SACRIFICE

After returning from my yearly visit to Ottawa for the Remembrance Day ceremonies, I was upset to read in Joe Warmington’s column “Worth forgetting” (Nov. 12) how our own city once again used politics and wokeness to besmirch the great men and women who fought and died for this country. As time passes on, I am afraid that the sacrifices made by these brave Canadians may be lost to time forever. If you get the chance, visit Ottawa on Nov. 11, a true tribute to the heroes of the past, present and, hopefully, the future.

COPOUT

COP29 like COP1 has been an abject failure for climate change and the Canadian taxpayer. With a federal election in 2025, the Trudeau and Guilbeault climate agenda including the carbon tax will hopefully come to an end. The Canadian economy and future prosperity of Canadians is on the line.

CHRISTMAS ELECTION

I can’t think of a better Christmas gift for Canadians than a federal election.
