It appears some people in the online world think they know who the U.S. president cast his ballot for last week in the presidential election, and it wasn’t Democratic Party nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Well Mr. President-elect and former President Donald, congratulations,” Biden told Trump as they shook hands in front of assembled media.

“Looking forward to having — like we said — a smooth transition. Do everything we can to make sure you are accommodated, what you need. We’re going to get a chance to talk about some of that today. So welcome back.”

Trump thanked Biden for his kind words.

“Thank you very much,” Trump replied, adding that “politics is tough. And it’s, in many cases, not a very nice world. But it is a nice world today, and I appreciate it very much.”

Social media lit up following Biden’s cheerful demeanour.

Colin Rugg, a conservative media personality, shared a video of the exchange on social media site X.

“I’ve never seen Joe Biden this happy,” he wrote.

Some followers in the comments were absolutely sure that Biden, who stepped down from the Democratic presidential ticket following a disastrous debate performance this summer, voted for Trump.

“I appreciate your vote, Joe,” one commenter imagined Trump whispered to Biden. “That meant a lot.”

Another person thought the meeting was surreal.

“He (Biden) is just beaming. He said, ‘We did it, Don. I voted for you.’”

Another conservative account, End Wokeness, shared photos of former U.S. President Barack Obama’s stunned look while meeting Trump in 2016 in contrast to Biden’s sunnier outlook.

“Spot the difference,” the account captioned the images.

Turning Point USA contributor and political commentator Morgonn McMichael asked who else thought Biden voted for Trump while comedian Tim Young was convinced that the president voted for the Republican candidate.

In an interview with the New York Post, Trump revealed that he and Biden spoke about the wars in Ukraine and Middle East behind closed doors.

“I wanted — I asked for his views and he gave them to me,” Trump told the paper. “Also, we talked very much about the Middle East, likewise. I wanted to know his views on where we are and what he thinks. And he gave them to me, he was very gracious.”

Trump added that they will have a second sit-down before he returns to office.

“We’ll have that very, very nice meeting that takes place between two presidents sometime prior. You know, that takes place just prior to going in. So we’ll have that. But this was a very enjoyable meeting.”
