Black Friday doesn’t technically arrive until November 29, but Virgin Media has launched its annual discounts early, so you’ve got plenty of time to price up all of the options.
Virgin Media isn’t alone in kickstarting Black Friday ahead of schedule, with the best Sky Stream deals and best VPN deals refreshed with a slew of early savings too.
Following its multi-billion merger with O2, Virgin Media customers now benefit from the O2 Priority scheme, which offers early access to ticket sales for concerts in O2 venues. It also rewards subscribers with discounted cinema tickets, free coffees from high street chains, and other savings and shopping bundles.

According to the most recent data from Ofcom, the average household broadband connection in the UK sits at 69Mbps. That means you’ll enjoy 3.6x faster speeds with the entry-level M250 Full-Fibre Broadband connection from Virgin Media, topping out at 14x faster downloads with the flagship Gig1 Full-Fibre package from the firm.
While broadband providers like Sky, Vodafone, EE, TalkTalk, and Plusnet all run on infrastructure from BT-owned Openreach, Virgin Media owns and maintains its own distinct full-fibre network.
This nationwide broadband infrastructure is connect to over 16 million homes and business across the UK, with all of these able to access the speediest gigabit internet speeds — a stark contrast with Openreach, which is working to upgrade its network.
Until recently, moving between Openreach-powered brands was hassle-free …but switching to a separate broadband network required a lot more planning. Thankfully, that’s changed with the introduction of the One Touch Switch system.
Virgin Media offers full-fibre broadband speeds to all of its 16 million customers, with top speeds sitting at around 1Gbps — that’s 14x faster than the average broadband speed across the UK
VIRGIN MEDIA PRESS OFFICE
Under this new system, new broadband customers will only need to contact their new supplier to initiate the change. The new broadband firm will handle all aspects of the switch, including terminating the existing contract and organising the installation date for the new broadband supplier.
The streamlined new sign-up process eliminates the need for you to give 30 days’ notice to the existing provider. Not only that, but it removes the stress of trying to sync-up the cut-off date from the old provider to the installation date from the new broadband firm — minimising the time without an internet connection.
Billing and activation dates will now be coordinated between the broadband operators in the background, further reducing the administrative burden. Best of all, if your new internet provider is unable to connect you on the date agreed, you’ll receive compensation. There’s no need to take action, the money is sent automatically.
