I’m A Celebrity 2024 is due to start in just over a week, and the first celebrity reportedly heading into camp has been revealed today. McFly’s Danny Jones was seen at Heathrow Airport, checking into a flight to Australia, ready for his jungle adventure.
He wasn’t the only familiar face on board, as Joel Dommett and Sam Thompson were also spotted boarding the same flight. The pair are confirmed to host this year’s spin-off show – I’m A Celebrity… Unpacked.
Danny was all smiles as he walked through departures, with a guitar strapped to his back, perhaps to entertain his fellow campmates if it’s allowed as his luxury item. The 38-year-old boyband member will reportedly spend up to three weeks in camp starting next weekend.
The full line-up has already been leaked and will be officially announced by ITV in the coming days, according to the Mirror. The camp is also said to include Coleen Rooney, 38, wife of footballer Wayne and known for her Wagatha Christie trial with Rebekah Vardy over leaked stories about her family.
N Dubz singer and former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos is also rumoured to be making a TV comeback on the show. Boxing legend Barry McGuigan is supposedly joining the show, stepping in as the sportsman in camp after Ally McCoist dropped out, reports the Daily Record.
Bookies currently have McFly star Danny as the favourite to win. He previously won The Masked Singer and his McFly bandmate Dougie Poynter won the show back in 2011.
Loose Women panelist and experienced journalist Jane Moore is reported to be joining the celebrity line-up, as is Radio 1 standout Dean McCulloch. Love Island’s own Maura Higgins is also rumoured to be braving another reality TV challenge with an upcoming appearance in I’m A Celebrity.
TikTok star GK Barry is anticipated to enter the jungle fray along with former Strictly Come Dancing champion Oti Mabuse. Radio favourites DJ Melvin Odoom and Reverend Richard Coles, alongside Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall, are thought to be prepping for their 2024 adventures too.
Last year, fans erupted in celebration when former Made In Chelsea celebrity Sam Thompson was crowned King of the Jungle. In a recent sighting, Sam was seen boarding a flight, joined by television host Joel, who notably appeared on ITV’s hit show.
Both Danny and Joel looked upbeat, unfazed by snapping cameras as they set off for Australia.
Joel Dommett, aged 39, secured second place in I’m A Celebrity in 2016 and is set to present this year’s brand-new show I’m A Celebrity Unpacked, which will feature reigning King of the Jungle, Sam Thompson, and DJ Kemi Rodgers. Speaking on Good Morning Britain this Tuesday, Dommett revealed his anticipation for the return of the extra show he previously enjoyed, saying: “I did the extra show for three years, which I loved. I feel like I learned everything there. And then it stopped for a couple of years, and it feels like the right time to bring it back. And we’re really sort of mixing it up. We’re changing it a lot.”
