A fundraising page has been set up to help a barman who was the victim of a vicious stabbing attack in north Belfast earlier this week.
Jamie Reilly, who works at Crusaders FC’s social club, had his neck slashed in the early hours of Monday morning.
Police say that a 32-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident in the St Vincent Street area has been released on bail to allow for further enquiries.
The man was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
“The investigation continues,” a PSNI spokesperson added.
Over £1,500 has already been raised online for Mr Reilly since the assault on November 4.

The JustGiving fundraising page states: “Jamie was a victim of a serious attack in his place of work… no one should ever have to endure that kind of thing when out earning an honest living to provide for their family.”
It continues: “If you live in the community, you will know Jamie is always working hard. With that being said, he will now be out of work because of [this] incident.
“It’s hard enough for anyone to be out of work in this day and age, let alone out of work at this time of the year, when you have children to provide for.
“We have decided to set up this page to help Jamie out in the coming weeks/months. Although it won’t take away the emotional or physical scars, we hope it takes a bit of stress off him and his family’s shoulders at this time. Any donation, however small, can greatly help. Your small acts of kindness can have a massive impact on others.”
A spokesperson for Crusaders said the club would not be making any statement.
The PSNI spokesperson added: “Enquiries are continuing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 13 04/11/24.”
