Situated near to the Memorial Stadium, The Anchor pub is a treasured spot for fans of both the football and nearby Gloucestershire County Cricket fans, with the sports bar being dubbed ‘one of the best places to watch live sport in the city’.

The pub recently had a six-figure refurbishment and to celebrate is offering all football fans a pint of Thatchers Gold, Haze, or Blood Orange, on the house. All fans have to do is sign up to the database by 4pm on Friday, November 8, and then head to The Anchor on matchday to redeem their pint.

In addition to its free pint offer, the pub will be hosting a special Q&A evening with former Rovers captain Lee Mansell, on Tuesday, November 19 – 10 years on from one famous day at Wembley where he scored the winning penalty to take the team to the football league, beating Grimsby Town.

The interview will be hosted by former Bristol Rovers player and BBC Bristol Sport radio presenter Geoff Twentyman. Tickets can be booked here.

Filip Mezak, general manager of The Anchor, said: “As the home of Bristol sport, we’re excited to be giving away a free pint of Thatchers for fans to enjoy ahead of the big game against Lincoln. Make sure to sign up to the webpage and speak to a friendly member of staff to claim your free drink.

“We also can’t wait to host Rovers’ legend Lee Mansell here for what promises to be an unforgettable evening reflecting on a remarkable day at Wembley. We all remember where we were when that penalty went in and I know Lee can’t wait to meet everyone and will even be bringing along the match ball from the play-off final.

Tickets are on sale now and we’re expecting them to sell out quick so ensure you act fast!”
