The buzz

How exciting was that? The Flames came from behind in thrilling fashion against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night, and it was 21-year-old Matt Coronato who was the hero. The winger was recalled from the Wranglers late last week and scored two late dazzling goals to earn the Flames the win. The second came just seven seconds into overtime, just a second short of the record for fastest goal to start an OT in NHL history. Dustin Wolf was solid in net, too, and the Flames bounced back nicely from their previous game, a 4-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Sunday.

The Bruins, meanwhile, are coming off a lopsided 4-0 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night. They allowed three power-play goals, even with Auston Matthews out, so maybe they’re just the team for the Flames to play against as they look to find any sort of solution to their struggles on the man-advantage.

The quote

“That’s what he’s all about, so I’m really excited for him. Sometimes when you play with (Mikael Backlund and Blake Coleman) they have a tendency to elevate a player because they’re like a security blanket at times, but I think he handled himself on his own and didn’t need that blanket tonight and found a way to get two big goals for us.”

— Flames head coach Ryan Huska about Matt Coronato after Sunday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Canadiens
