The long wait for the new mini golf venue within Cabot Circus will soon come to an end as it has now been confirmed that it will open next month. Treetop Golf took to social media to announce that it will open on the top floor sometime in December.

The mini golf brand will bring two immersive 18-hole courses to its first branch in Bristol and sixth in the UK, following a £2.5 million refit. Taking place across 17,000 sq ft, the courses will be set amongst dense rainforest as visitors take on mystic temples and ancient wonders.

The venue will bring a “complete sensory experience” featuring dynamic audio, colourful visuals and forest aromas. The first golf course, Tropical Trail, features holes such as Honey Bee Heights where guests will need to “keep your wits as you take your final shots”. On the Ancient Explorer golf course, the hole Toucans of the West pays homage to a very famous Bristol landmark. In each golf course, there will be five unique zones where guests can uncover landmarks and meet a cast of characters.

Other feature holes which will be in Bristol include those centred around serpents and monkey monarchs. But new for Bristol is the Toucan Lounge, a private events room inspired by Bristol’s music scene. The bonus 19th hole is here also, where players get the chance to win a free game of mini golf if obtaining a hole in one.

The new venue will also feature an area known as “The Market” which will feature Pizza Cabana, offering handmade pizzas, and a Jungle Buzz Café which will serve coffee and snacks. The Thirsty Toucan will serve tropical cocktails and mocktails using local suppliers such as Clifton Coffee, New Bristol Brewery and Left Handed Giant.

General Manager Roo Collins said: “Bristol’s always been close to our hearts. There’s nowhere else like it, and now that we’re here, we’re so excited to bring an experience that matches the city’s fun, adventurous spirit.

“Travellers can sample the finest tastes of the rainforest thanks to partnerships with the passionate community that surrounds us. We’re all about going local – supporting our neighbourhood and showing off the flavours that make the city so special.”

Posting on Instagram on November 1, Treetop Golf unveiled a video showing behind the scenes images of what the courses could look like. The post was captioned: “Ready to roll… December 2024.”

Treetop Golf was announced in April to be coming to Cabot Circus and at the time, the asset manager at Hammerson, Shelley Taylor, said: “We are really excited to welcome Treetop Golf later this year. This signing supports our vision to strengthen Cabot Circus’ offering with modern and innovative leisure concepts.

“Our vision is to reposition Cabot Circus from a place where people come only to shop, to a multi-use ‘destination’ offering a real mix of exciting entertainment, social and lifestyle experiences. This is just the first step in a series of exciting new brands we plan to announce this year.”

Treetop Golf will be located in the former Jungle Rumble which closed at the end of March. At the time, Hammerson said it wanted to attract the “best in-class operators” to Bristol.

The shopping centre is aiming to ‘evolve’ into a multi-use destination rather than a shopping destination and a number of new brands will be opening over the coming months, including King Pins Bowl. The new bowling complex will open in January 2025.

In addition, a new moonshine alcohol store will be opening at Cabot Circus after signage was spotted. The homemade spirits brand is opening its second permanent store in the UK.
