A bright red cola truck will be making stops in various cities as Christmas approaches. However, it’s not by the brand you’d expect.

Coca-Cola has revealed that its iconic truck is making a comeback, a sight many believe signals the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season when it appears on television. However, it’s not the only festive truck making its rounds this year.

Lidl, the supermarket chain, has introduced its own Christmas cola truck, set to travel across the country starting next week. This truck will spread holiday cheer by granting wishes, distributing more than 2,000 gifts, and offering festive coupons to help with your holiday grocery shopping.

Lidl is taking its beloved Freeway drink on an exciting journey by transforming its fizzy cola into a massive lorry that weighs 15 tonnes and measures 20 metres long and five metres high. Adorned with a giant Freeway label, this truck is designed to bring the festive spirit of Christmas to communities all over Great Britain.

Travelling to nine cities, the truck will showcase the joy of giving, sharing, and making wishes this Christmas with a festive pop-up wonderland at every location. Inside the truck, over 2,000 gift boxes are packed full of Lidl’s popular Middle Aisle treasures, all set to be distributed to the first guests at each stop.

Following the supermarket’s festive Christmas advertisement, helmed by Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper and focusing on the magic of wish-making, Lidl is set to turn fans’ wishes into reality. At each tour stop, guests will have the opportunity to share a wish that would bring true holiday magic to their lives and their loved ones.

Embracing the spirit of a wonderful Christmas with Lidl, the retailer will fulfill several of these wishes, bringing both big and small dreams to life. Lidl will also be handing out its delicious festive food at the pop-up wonderland.

Commenting on the upcoming tour, Joanna Gomer, Lidl’s marketing director, said: “Giving back to the communities we serve is really important to us and our exciting new Freeway truck allows us to get right into the heart of them this year.

“By touring nine stops across the country, we’ll be using our giant truck to hand out present boxes, give away festive food shops and grant wishes that will make dreams come true. Look out for the Freeway truck on its tour and most importantly, come join the fun.”
