A young man has sustained serious life-threatening injuries after the black BMW he was driving crashed into a tree during the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, November 6. The crash took place along the A370, near Flax Bourton, around 2am, when the BMW failed to stop for a marked police car and then immediately left the road and crashed.
The driver of the black BMW 5 series, a man in his 20s, is now fighting for his life in hospital. His passenger was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
Their next of kin have been made aware and they are receiving support from specially trained officers. It is not believed that anyone else sustained injuries in the collision.
In a statement made earlier today, Avon and Somerset Police said a marked police car was behind the BMW at the time of the crash. Police have added that the BMW failed to stop for the police car and then immediately crashed into a tree.
