Queen Camilla has announced her first engagement since being sidelined by a nasty chest infection.
Ahead of the Booker Prize 2024 ceremony, the Queen will host a reception to celebrate the authors and books shortlisted for this year’s Booker Prize next Tuesday, Buckingham Palace has confirmed.
This comes just one day after the news that Camilla, 77, has cancelled all engagements this week after battling a chest infection.
A Palace spokesperson said: “Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest.

“With great regret, Her Majesty has therefore had to withdraw from her engagements for this week, but she very much hopes to be recovered in time to attend this weekend’s Remembrance events as normal.
“She apologises to all those who may be inconvenienced or disappointed as a result.”
The new engagement for next Tuesday suggests the Queen is successfully recovering from her chest infection.
However, she will not be attending the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey on Thursday, with the Duchess of Gloucester stepping in on the Queen’s behalf.
Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester, 78, is a Danish-born member of the British Royal Family.
She is married to Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, a first cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The duchess is a hardworking member of the Royal Family, having carried out 111 engagements in 2023.
Camilla has also pulled out of a Buckingham Palace reception for Olympic and Paralympic athletes hosted by the King the same evening.
