Michael O’Neill has urged his Northern Ireland side to find the killer touch to home in on top spot in their Nations League group.

There had been uncertainty over whether Belarus’ players, staff and officials would be granted visas by the UK Government because of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, but the Windsor Park showdown has been given the green light for November 15.

Northern Ireland are currently top of League C, Group 3 after four matches and they finish their campaign away to Luxembourg on November 18.

The Green and White Army were in fine voice as O’Neill’s men cut open Bulgaria 5-0 at Windsor Park.

It was a surprising display of firepower after the scoreless draw with Belarus behind closed doors in Hungary.

O’Neill, who has added Brighton defender Ruairi McConville to his squad, now wants his men to retain that ruthless streak and finish top.

“The area that this team needs to improve in, more than any other, is in the attacking third,” he said.

“We have attacking players who play in League One and we are asking them to step up, score and produce at international level.

“Some are still development players, but the next phase is to be a bit more clinical.

“We’ve only had the chance to play at home twice in 2024. It’s always nice to finish top of anything.

“We’ve had a lot of positive camps, probably none more so than October, and we have to try and replicate that.”
