News anchor Joy Reid courted controversy during MSNBC’s live coverage of the US election results when she unleashed a tirade when Florida failed to pass an abortion amendment.
The host raged against the Southern state in a fiery moment on the show.
Florida’ Amendment 4 ballot measure would have meant abortion rights being put into the state’s constitution, but the measure did not pass.
Reid accused Florida of having an “extreme right-wing, fascist type government” as she lashed out at the amendment’s failure.

“It’s a pure Project 2025 in miniature in Florida,” Reid said on an MSNBC election panel.
“That kind of extremist right-wing, fascist-type government in Florida – does that make it a more attractive place?” she asked.
“Or does it make it more like some of the other Southern states that don’t get investment?”
Project 2025 is a term coined to a supposed conservative policy blueprint for the next Republican president.

“Black voters came through for Kamala Harris – white woman voters did not,” Reid said on MSNBC.
“That is what it appears happened in that state.”
