For the first time in more than two decades, Bristol’s iconic Queen Square will transform into a vibrant hub, hosting electrifying music events in August 2025.
These groundbreaking concerts promise to be the ultimate celebration of music, community and culture, right in the heart of Bristol, which will see up to 15,000 fans a day enjoy what is on offer.
The first events on August 1 and 2 will be headlined by none other than Bristol’s own IDLES, marking their only UK performances for 2025.
Known for their raw energy and unflinching performances, they have risen from Bristol’s underground scene to become one of the most influential bands of the past decade.
The band’s headline performance over two consecutive nights promises to be a homecoming like no other, celebrating their explosive journey from local heroes to international icons.
Not only will this be Bristol’s newest must-see event of the summer, but it will also be IDLES’ only UK performances for 2025 – so this is one not to be missed by fans.
The band IDLES, hailing from Bristol, have been making waves in modern rock with their distinctive sound. Over the course of five albums, including two that reached number one, they bring the essence of Bristol into their music with sincerity and intensity.
Their live performances create an engaging environment where audience members can connect and enjoy a sense of community.
In addition to IDLES’ headline act, the festival will feature an array of special guests, top-tier DJs, and local street food vendors, ensuring a weekend full of diverse entertainment and culinary delights.
Each night will offer a distinct line up of incredible live acts and DJs, making every moment unmissable.
Joe Talbot, frontman of IDLES, said: “We are coming home. We’re putting on a couple of parties in queen square with music we love for the people we love. All is love x.”
Promoters Daniel Ealam and Scott O’Neill from Communion ONE expressed their excitement: “We cannot wait to bring this event to Queen Square. It’s a space that’s right at the heart of the city which already brings some unforgettable communal experiences to the community and partnering with IDLES, a band that embodies the spirit and resilience of Bristol, makes this even more significant for us.
“We love Bristol and everything that it represents so it’s important to us that we curate a new event with the people and the fans at the forefront. And let’s face it, Bristol in the summer – you just can’t beat it.”
This landmark gig series not only revives Queen Square as a prime venue for live music but also enhances Bristol’s cultural calendar with an alternative weekend of festivities.
Organisers have worked closely with key city stakeholders, including Bristol City Council, to bring this event to life, ensuring the festival aligns with the city’s values and strategic vision.
This collaborative approach highlights the team’s commitment to creating an event that showcases Bristol’s thriving music culture.
