Bristol Rovers will learn their FA Cup second round opponents this evening after they beat National League South outfit Weston-super-Mare 3-1 in extra-time yesterday
The two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in regular time, although most Gasheads wouldn’t have seen it that way as their side found themselves under the cosh more often than they would have liked, especially considering the opposition were three divisions below the Gas.
Jamie Lindsay put the hosts in front late in the first half but the Seagulls managed to find a deserved equaliser through Jordan Bastin before both teams pushed for a winner.
That wasn’t to be and thus Rovers had to rely on extra-time, of which they dominated the majority and secured victory thanks to goals from Connor Taylor and Grant Ward.
Matt Taylor’s side will be ball number 18 in the second round draw which takes place later today. Here are all the details you need…
