Black Friday might still be a month away, but this year some of the biggest brands and retailers are launching their sales way ahead of time. This morning, Boots kicked off its massive Black Friday sale online, and now Oodie has announced when its unrivalled £1 sale will be taking place.

In recent years, Oodie has slashed its bestselling hooded blankets to the very purse-friendly price of £1, and the Oodie Black Friday 2025 sale is no different. If you want to get your hands on a £1 Oodie, you can sign up here now to make sure you don’t miss out.

The sale begins at 6pm on 6 November (GMT). But you’ll need to be quick, as the sale closes once the £1 Oodies sell out – which happened in a matter of minutes last year.

Thankfully, it’s easy to sign up and you’ll be sent notifications reminding you of the start time ahead of the big day. Enter your email on Oodie’s website and you’ll get a reminder 24 hours before the offer goes live, plus a 2-hour warning on the day.

You can also enter your phone number to receive an SMS update when the £1 Oodies go on sale, reports the Manchester Evening News.

For customers who can’t wait, or prefer one of the colourful options, the brand has a little-known clearance section, where hundreds of items have been heavily reduced. Here, Oodies are down from £65 to £39.

And its Ultra Quilt hooded blanket that’s literally like wearing a duvet is now £42 instead of £85. This won’t be included in the £1 deal, so it’s the cheapest you’ll find it.

For those who aren’t too concerned about brand names and are looking for immediate warmth amid the chilly October climate, Debenhams offers a purse-friendly alternative. Their Alivio Oversized grey women’s Fleece Hoodie Blanket, usually retailing at £59.99, has seen a price cut of 78%, now available for just £12.99.

OHS has also joined the discount brigade with their Faux Fur Hoodie Blanket Supersoft Giant Oversized Plush Fleece Wearable Throw now at a bargain price, reduced by 41% to £17.99 from the original £41.99. Marks & Spencer isn’t far behind with their own offer – the Supersoft Faux Fur Hooded Blanket priced at £35.

Customers have highlighted another benefit Oodies may contribute to reducing household bills. Testimonials suggest that the popular blankets might help in cutting down heating usage.

One satisfied customer exclaimed: “Fantastic oodie, haven’t had my heater on since I have had it, so comfortable and warm. I would recommend this to everyone. Best thing I have bought in a long time and well worth the money.”

Echoing the sentiment, another customer added: “This Oodie is so comfortable, cosy and light and I have popped it on every evening when I get home. I now do not have to run the heating on some evenings—saving me on heating power bills. My cat and dog are obsessed with it and want sit on my lap all evening to keep cosy! “.

Another recommendation comes from a happy buyer: “Best winter warmer I ever bought. Have worn cheap market brands of friends and they do not compare to the warmth and snugness of a genuine oodie.”

However, some owners mentioned a few drawbacks, with one saying that while they loved their Oodie, the sleeves tend to get in the way when cooking, and another finding it a bit too heavy, the Mirror reports. Some customers also wished for a longer length, with one reviewer commenting: “Warm but could be longer. Good quality. Length short on a 6ft tall adult.”

For those who aren’t into Oodies, there are other hooded blankets on the market. Dunelm sell their Teddy Oversized Blanket Hoodie in seven colours for £16. Meanwhile, M&S have a range of hooded blankets starting from £15.
