Married At First Sight UK star Sionainn Carmichael has spoken candidly about her health struggles during filming, sharing the cause behind her ‘shaky’ appearance in recent episodes. The reality TV star made a lasting impression on the E4 show, initially getting cold feet about marrying Ryan Livesey.

But, after a slow start, the couple quickly formed a bond over their shared experience with cancer, which Ryan had previously been diagnosed with, as revealed at their wedding dinner. Over the next few episodes, their relationship seemed to be going strong – but an argument over shoelaces saw the pair part ways.

In a Q&A session with fans, Sionainn addressed concerns about her appearing ‘jittery’ in some scenes, explaining that she had a medical condition and was battling a chest infection during filming. “I’m a shaky gal anyway but I had a horrible chest infection and was on my second course of steroids in a month after the honeymoon, so I was literally rattling,” she told fans.

Speaking in a recent episode, Sionainn also opened up with Married At First Sight co-stars Emma Barnes and Lacey Martin about the heart-breaking reason why she left the show. According to BirminghamLive, she recalled: “He just spoke to me really, really poorly. And I said, ‘Ryan don’t speak to me like that. You’re not going to speak to me like shit’,” and “And it just flipped.

“He decided to tell me that none of his feelings had ever been real. He’d been faking it all. It was all a holiday romance for him.”

In response to these allegations, Ryan Livesey issued a statement asserting his ‘real feelings’ for Sionainn. He said: “I was beginning to develop genuine feelings, and hearing Sionainn say she felt ‘safe and comfortable’ with me meant a lot. This is something I take great pride in, not just as a man but also as a father.”
