Ruben Amorim has revealed nothing will be announced on his future until after Sporting Lisbon’s league match against Estrela Amadora on Thursday evening as Manchester United are made to wait.
The Portuguese head coach quickly emerged as the frontrunner to replace Erik ten Hag after the Dutchman was dismissed on Monday.
United moved quickly after Ten Hag’s dismissal with reports suggesting they agreed to pay Amorim’s release clause.
There were some suggestions that Amorim would be confirmed as the new United boss on Wednesday.

However, the 39-year-old insists all will be revealed after Sporting’s match on Thursday evening.
“It’s a negotiation between two clubs,” he said in his press conference.
“It’s never easy, even with the clauses it’s never easy.
“They have to talk and we’ll have clarification after the game.
“It will be very clear so it’s one more day after the game tomorrow we’ll have the decision made.”
