As we edge closer to November, the peak shopping period for 2024 is fast approaching with Black Friday sales on the horizon. This year, Black Friday falls on November 29, providing shoppers with the opportunity to bag a bargain from a multitude of retailers throughout the weekend until Cyber Monday on December 2.
However, there’s no need to wait for the sales to secure a fantastic deal, as several major brands have already launched their offers. In this edition of our Top Tech series, we’ve gathered some of the best deals in the lead-up to Black Friday, featuring free gadgets and discounted iPhones from Virgin Media, Samsung, Dyson,Sky and Debenhams.
We’ve also pinpointed the web pages you’ll want to bookmark for when the sales kick off. But until then, continue reading for our top selections of early Black Friday deals.
Virgin Media
Virgin Media has recently revealed a flash offer that includes a free Robot Vacuum worth £399 or a £200 bill credit with selected TV and broadband bundles. Virgin’s packages offer a choice of Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Netflix and superfast fibre broadband, but you’ll need to act quickly to secure the deal before it ends at 11.59pm on Wednesday, October 30, reports the Mirror.
You can secure a free RoboVac or £200 by subscribing to one of these four 18-month plans: the Bigger Combo bundle + Movies, Bigger Combo bundle + Sports HD, Biggest Combo bundle or Mega Volt bundle. Prices start at £60.99 a month for the Movies bundle, which includes over 200 TV channels, Sky Cinema, a complimentary Netflix subscription and 132Mbps fibre broadband.
For sports fans, the Sports bundle might be appealing, swapping out Sky Cinema for eight Sky Sports channels, including Main Event, Premier League and F1, along with faster broadband speeds of up to 516Mbps. Alternatively, Virgin’s Mega Volt bundle merges both plans, offering over 230 channels, including both Sky Sports and Sky Cinema, as well as a Netflix subscription.
This is Virgin’s priciest plan at £84.99, but it provides substantial value for money, featuring Virgin’s ultra-fast Gigabit broadband with speeds reaching 1,130Mbps and an O2 SIM card with unlimited 5G data plus data roaming in 75 destinations at no extra cost. Virgin Media has created a dedicated Black Friday section on its website here, which will be updated once its deals are launched.
Sky
Even though Sky’s latest deals have just ended, that doesn’t mean there aren’t great value TV or broadband plans available. The provider regularly updates its prices with new promotions, with its Sky Stream and Netflix bundle now available for £26 a month or £29 on a monthly rolling plan.
There’s never been a better time to join Sky, with its roster of thrilling new and upcoming shows that are not to be missed. The Batman spin-off The Penguin is currently on air and has garnered rave reviews, while the sci-fi prequel Dune: Prophecy and the fresh series The Day of the Jackal are slated for a November release.
Moreover, Sky Stream includes a subscription to Netflix’s Standard with adverts plan at no extra cost, enabling you to watch the second season of Squid Game when it premieres on December 26. Considering that Netflix usually costs £4.99 a month, you’re essentially paying £21.01 for over 100 additional channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Documentaries and Comedy Central.
While Sky hasn’t revealed its Black Friday plans yet, last year’s sale saw this package reduced to £19 a month, so we expect a similar deal this year. There are also likely to be discounts on Sky Glass, which is currently priced at £14 a month for the first three months and includes Sky’s own 4K QLED smart TV.
Mobiles.co.uk
If you’re in the market for a new mobile phone, Mobiles.co.uk is also offering some incredible deals. The retailer is currently selling the new iPhone 16 for £38.99 a month and £9 upfront for the 128GB model.
This is a 24-month contract on iD Mobile that comes with 500GB data and unlimited minutes and texts, along with a complimentary MagSafe case. Although this is the most standout plan at the moment, iPhone 16 packages start from £24.99 a month if you’re willing to pay more upfront, which turns out to be less expensive over the duration of the plan.
If you’re a Samsung enthusiast, Mobiles.co.uk is also offering a free Galaxy Watch FE to customers who purchase any contract or SIM-free Galaxy S24 FE. We’ve previously highlighted this in our Samsung deals round-up, but we believe it’s still worth mentioning.
A Galaxy Watch FE typically retails at £199 when purchased directly from Samsung, but shoppers can snag one for free until October 31. The Galaxy S24 FE, launched earlier this year, serves as a budget-friendly alternative to the standard S24, available in blue, graphite, grey and mint, with storage options of 128GB or 256GB.
Customers can acquire the phone along with a complimentary Galaxy Watch FE on any 24-month iD Mobile plan, including the 100GB plan, which includes unlimited calls and texts for £25.99 a month and an upfront cost of £9. For those requiring more data, iD also provides a 500GB plan for £23.99 a month and an upfront fee of £79.
iD Mobile’s S24 FE plans start at £14.99 a month for those looking to keep monthly costs low, although these plans will require higher upfront payments. Mobiles.co.uk has also unveiled its Black Friday landing page here, so be sure to check back when the sales begin.
Dyson
Currently, Dyson is offering significant discounts as part of its autumn sale, with up to £150 off on its range of vacuum cleaners and air purifying heaters. One of the most notable deals is on the Dyson V8 vacuum, which has seen a price drop from £399.99 to £249.99.
The cordless vacuum cleaner is ideal for homes with pets, as it detangles hair while cleaning, whether on soft or hard surfaces. It also comes with various tools for cleaning those difficult-to-reach areas or even for use in the car.
There’s also a £100 discount on the Dyson Purifier Hot+Cool purifying fan heater. This versatile device can heat your home during winter and cool it down in summer, while also purifying the air by capturing 99.95% of particles.
Usually sold at £549.99, Dyson has reduced the price of the purifier to £449.99. When Dyson’s Black Friday sale begins, the deals will be available on its dedicated sale page here.
Debenhams
Finally, we turn our attention to Debenhams, who are currently in the midst of a huge autumn sale. The store has already launched its Black Friday landing page here, but until then, there are some significant discounts across its range of electrical goods.
Shoppers can currently save up to 70% on a variety of tech items including soundbars and air fryers. The LG SQC1 Bluetooth Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is now £70 less at £129.99 and even comes with a free mystery gift worth £15. Additionally, there’s this massive 92″ projector screen perfect for enjoying big screen favourites over the festive period for just £59.29, down from £222.
Debenhams has slashed prices on a range of air fryers, including the Living and Home 15L three-tier air fryer, now on offer for £48.99, a whopping saving of £151. For those wary about the upcoming winter, an electric heater could be a smart purchase to reduce heating bills, particularly with the substantial discounts available.
The Living and Home Digital Ceramic Heater is one such item currently discounted, with shoppers able to buy one for only £43, a significant drop from its usual price of £155.88.
