Having young children, there is little doubt The Wales family will be getting into the Halloween spirit, with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis eagerly anticipating the upcoming celebrations. The young royals are likely counting down to a host of spooky activities as they spend time at Anmer Hall, the Norfolk residence of William and Kate, during their half-term break from Lambrook school.
In previous years, the Princess of Wales has been seen purchasing Halloween costumes for her children at a local Sainsbury’s. Local Kathy Whittaker clocked the royal mum as she was browsing the Halloween section in the King’s Lynn branch of the store back in 2019
Kathy told The Mirror at the time: “She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures. I managed to get the photo as she was at the self-service check out.

“I didn’t see what she actually bought. The lady that told me she was there had children with her and she said Kate was asking her children what they were going to be for Halloween. I think she bought some Halloween bits for her kids but I don’t know what.”
And the family have even been known to go trick-or-treating. In October 2022, Princess Kate was seen taking part in the Halloween tradition near to their Kensington Palace home, the Mirror reports. A photo published by Hello! showed the Royal mum and her children at a neighbour’s gate in London.
Despite the distance of the shot making it difficult to discern the children’s costumes, Princess Kate was seen holding a bag, presumably for collecting Halloween sweets. The image was shared by their neighbour Jay Rutland, Tamara Ecclestone’s husband, who captioned it: “For anyone doubting how down to earth William and Kate are … This is Kate with their kids knocking on our door in London trick-or-treating at Halloween.”
It appears that a fondness for trick-or-treating runs in the Middleton family. Carole Middleton, Princess Kate’s mother, previously expressed her love for the season on social media. “Halloween is an Autumn highlight for me,” she wrote on the Party Pieces Instagram account in 2022.
“I can still remember the fun and frights from my own childhood; the chance to dress up, decorate pumpkins and go trick-or-treating! ” She also shared her plans for that year’s celebration, revealing: “I’ve even grown my own pumpkins this year, so I’m looking forward to decorating those with my loved ones.”
