Sue Hannam, headteacher of Lichfield Cathedral School says she is “genuinely trepidatious” about what the Labour Government has in store for private schools across the country in the Budget, which will be set out later today.
Private schools could be hit by another fee hike this afternoon with increased VAT and business rates mooted.
Speaking on GB News, Hannam hit out at a tweet put out by Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson making statements like “our students need career advice more than private schools need astroturf pitches”.
Hitting back, Hannam said the words were “extremely disappointing”, and Phillipson’s words were “unhelpful” and only served to create division.
She also said her school has none of the facilities mentioned by the Education Secretary.
