Four teenage girls have been arrested and charged with arson after a house fire that caused more than $2 million worth of damage in Oshawa.

On Sunday at 5:10 a.m., Durham Regional Police were called to a house fire in the area of Eddystone and Okanagan paths.

Police said the home was occupied when the fire was set, but everyone managed to get out and there were no injuries. The fire spread and damaged several other homes, causing more than $2 million in damages.

A police investigation resulted in four girls being taken into custody.

A 12-year-old girl, 16-year-old girl and two 15-year-old girls, all from Oshawa, are charged with arson/disregard for human life, mischief under $5,000 and intimidation by threats of violence.
