Liverpool Football Club has put Jurgen Klopp’s former £4million mansion up for sale after new manager Arne Slot declined to move in.

The luxurious property, located on Victoria Road in Formby, is situated on Merseyside’s prestigious “Millionaire’s Row”.

The seven-bedroom home boasts an array of impressive features, including three lounges, a home cinema, an indoor swimming pool, and a landscaped garden.

The decision to sell marks the end of a 20-year association between the club and the property.

The property has a rich history of ownership by Liverpool FC figures.

Steven Gerrard purchased the house in 2005, making it the largest built in Formby for 90 years at the time. Brendan Rodgers later acquired it from Gerrard in 2012.

After Rodgers’ departure in 2015, he rented the property to incoming manager Jurgen Klopp.

Liverpool FC then bought the mansion in 2019 as an investment.

The club reportedly allowed Klopp to stay rent-free for the remainder of his tenure. Klopp and his wife Ulla resided there until his departure from Liverpool earlier this year.

Arne Slot, who succeeded Klopp as Liverpool manager, was offered the property but chose to live elsewhere.

A source told The Sun: “It was identified by the club as an ideal base for incoming managers.

“Arne was offered it when he took over in the summer but has chosen to live elsewhere. As a result, the club has decided to cut its losses.”

Despite declining the house, Slot has maintained contact with Klopp.

The Dutchman said: “I think it’s normal that if you go to a new club that you contact the current coach. I did this at Feyenoord as well.”

The property is currently listed with Berkeley Shaw Real Estate for £4.25 million.
