Mike Tindall has opened up on Zara’s love for her grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, in his new book.
Tindall, who married Princess Anne’s daughter Zara in 2011, has shared his experiences of becoming a member of the Royal Family in his new book The Good, the Bad & the Rugby – Unleashed.
The former England rugby player discussed the bond Zara and the late Queen had and his respect for the monarch.
Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022.

Mike Tindall said: “Watching what Zara had to go through, obviously she loved the Queen beyond everything else.
“Their connection with horses, they had a real bond around that. It’s like the world has lost its grandmother in some way.
“I also have loads of regrets about not asking her so many more things… Having nervousness when you sit there, get that lucky seat of being sat next to her.
“Going back through history and everything she’s possibly seen; 15 prime ministers, I don’t know how many presidents.”

Mike Tindall revealed Prince George is following in Prince William’s footsteps with his football obsession.
The young royal’s uncle wrote in his new book that Prince George is always watching the sport.
He said regarding the prince second in line to the throne: “Wherever he is, he’ll sit down and watch that game.”

Prince George most recently attended England’s Euro 2024 final football match against Spain in the summer alongside Prince William.
The Prince of Wales was first appointed President of the FA in 2005 and held the position for almost 20 years.
William’s decision to step back from the role this summer was motivated by his greater focus on new roles and responsibilities in Wales and as Duke of Cornwall.
