A high street supermarket has come up with a novel way to get into the Halloween spirit with a limited edition bottle of red that comes in a spooky glow-in-the-dark bottle. The eerie version of Aldi’s Reprobates Red Wine has a label that transforms when you switch the light off.

The bottle looks normal during the day but when the dusk falls a glowing skeleton appears. The Ghouliburra red wine is described as a smooth, medium-bodied Australian blend, full of juicy red berry aromas which are complemented by oaky vanilla and chocolate notes, complete with tannins. The spooky sip (£7.19, 75cl) is best paired with hearty stews cooked in bubbling cauldrons.

Aldi has expanded its Reprobates range, including two new offerings aimed at those hosting parties. The new Reprobates Red Boxed Wine (£13.99, 1.5L) contains the equivalent of two bottles of The Reprobates Red wine, meanwhile the Reprobates Australian Chardonnay (£7.19, 75cl) is a fresh and medium-dry white with fresh aromas of white peach, melon and tropical fruits, complemented by honey notes.

The Beachfront Californian Red (£8.99, 75cl) brings a smooth wine with warming aromas of blackberry fruit and soft spices, while Castellore Reprobates Lite (£5.99, 75cl) is aimed at those who prefer a lighter wine as it’s only 11%, but still full of flavour. Jam-packed of red berry notes such as juicy cherries and raspberries, with a slightly spiced finish.
