It’s officially ‘boot season’, and shoppers have been heaping praise on a high street pair that’s tipped to take over the cowboy boot trend. While the cowboy boot has dominated the fashion scene in recent years thanks to the likes of Beyonce and Taylor Swift, this autumn their elevated cousins are set to be a major hit. That’s right, I’m talking about riding boots.

And for anyone looking to invest in a pair of equestrian-esque knee boots, Marks and Spencer has the perfect pair. Priced at £59, the riding-inspired boots come in black and brown, and are available in sizes 3-8.

Coming in a regular fit, the boots boast a comfortable mid-block heel and a zip fastening, which makes them easy for pulling on and off. Their style is totally classic, with a curved top and buckle detailing.

The Riding Knee High Boots have earned themselves a 4.5 star rating from shoppers who say they ‘look more expensive’ than their £59 price tag, as well as hailing them as ‘comfortable’. One said: “Loved these boots. They are so comfortable and look more expensive then they are.”

Another added: “I saw these boots on the M&S website but, as I have wide calves, I wanted to try them on before purchasing. They are a perfect fit, and comfortable right from the first time I wore them. I’m very happy with my purchase.”

“These boots are great,” a third wrote. “Nod to a cowboy style with the dip at the front. Quite a bit of room on the calves if you struggle with that. Also have an elastic strip down the back to help the fit.”

While a fourth added: “These boots are so well made. You really would think they were made from leather. Such great quality and look so smart on. Really pleased with the look and price point.”

However, some people have struggled with the width, with one commenting: “These should be marketed as wide fit, they are far far too wide,” though another wrote: “Nice looking boots and good value however not wide enough in the calf for me.”

As well as being ‘smart and comfortable’, the boots are fitted with Insolia Flex technology, which ensures your feet are correctly positioned for all-day comfort, while Freshfeet antibacterial foam padding helps to keep odours at bay. The boots can be dressed either up or down, perfect for slipping over skinny jeans, or wearing under midi skirts and dresses.

Plus, they’re cheaper than a lot of other riding styles online, including Dune London’s Branded Buckle Knee High Boots, which come in at £180. Meanwhile, the Forever Comfort Rider Knee High Boots at Next cost £89, also coming in black and brown.

What’s more is that the M&S boots cost more than £35, which means it qualifies shoppers to buy the high street favourite’s beauty advent calendar. Worth over £300, anyone who spends £35 on beauty, fashion or home will be able to buy the festive countdown for £50.

Inside there are 25 products, six of which are full sized, perfect for pampering your way through to December 25. Shoppers can expect to find a number of familiar and new brands to discover, with products from Clinique, Benefit, REN, Prai and more tucked inside.
