During the gripping finale of The Voice UK, Sir Tom Jones became the centre of attention, leaving viewers abuzz on social media who praised the iconic Welsh singer, calling him “handsome” and “dapper.”

A staple of the coaching panel since 2012, Sir Tom shows no signs of retiring from his beloved role on the show.

At the onset of the final episode, he took to the stage with the other judges to perform, continuing to charm audiences not only with his voice but also with his timeless style at the age of 84.

Viewers were quick to express their admiration online. As reported by the Express, one fan on X praised: “Good luck team, Tom. You look so handsome,” while another complimented him, saying, “You look very dapper and handsome, Sir Tom. I love the jacket. Good luck xx.”

Enthusiasm continued, with comments such as, “Wow! You look amazing, Sir,” and praise on his ever-dapper appearance: “You are always suited and booted!”

The much-anticipated Saturday night event saw dramatic performances by contenders Deb Orah, Storry, Ava, and Billy and Louie striving for the title and ultimate prize in The Voice UK final, with Ava ultimately triumphing as the 2024 winner.

Before host Emma Willis announced this year’s victor, Sir Tom shared a personal anecdote, disclosing to Ava his past regret tied to her performance song.

Sir Tom revealed: “I’ve got a story about that song.

“I was having a drink with Paul McCartney in the late ’60s, and I said, ‘Paul, I’d love you to write me a song,’ and he said, ‘Okay,’ and all of a sudden, my recording manager came to the house and he said, ‘Paul McCartney has sent you the song that he promised to write you’.

“So I put it on, and it was The Long and Winding Road. Honestly, we couldn’t t get it out in time because I had a song coming out.”

“But I have always loved that song, and every time I hear anybody do it, I am thinking, ‘Oh my god, I should have recorded that song’,” he concluded.

Ava will join the esteemed company of past winners such as Leanne Mitchell, Molly Hocking, and Kevin Simm.

Although she didn’t win the title in 2014, Becky Hill is arguably the most significant success story in The Voice UK. The 30-year-old was a member of Jessie J’s team and reached the semi-finals of the competition.

This queen of the dance floor has collaborated with some of the world’s leading DJs, including David Guetta, MK, Oliver Heldens, Joel Corry, and Wilkinson.

The Voice is available to watch on the ITV Hub.
