The University of Saskatchewan Huskies wrapped up their football regular season with a fourth straight victory Saturday in Calgary.

Ryker Frank’s four-yard touchdown run with seven seconds on the clock lifted the Huskies to a 16-11 victory over the Calgary Dinos. The game meant nothing as far as the standings go — the Huskies knew they would finish third going in, and the Dinos were eliminated Friday night when the Regina Rams beat the Alberta Golden Bears 29-22.

Saskatchewan, which finishes 5-3, will play the second-place British Columbia Thunderbirds in Saturday’s playoff opener in Vancouver. UBC, also 5-3, clinches second because they beat the Huskies 38-24 in the only meeting between the teams this season.

Manitoba, 7-1, nailed down first place Saturday by beating UBC 51-38. They’ll host the fourth-place Rams, who are 3-5, in the other conference semifinal.

Frank ran 17 times for 147 yards Saturday, enough to give him the conference rushing crown. His 952 yards edge out the 937 posted by Manitoba’s Breydon Stubbs and the 923 from UBC’s Isaiah Knight.

Daniel Wiebe added five catches for 87 yards, including a 46-yard touchdown reception.

Calgary got a 19-yard TD catch from Ben Britton and a 33-yard field goal from Vince Triumbari.

Saskatchewan quarterback Anton Amundrud completed 26 of 40 passes for 273 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

The winners of the two upcoming playoff games will meet in the conference final the following weekend.
